Club Launch @ Nizam College

We have inaugurated Mozilla Club in our (Nizam) college and Maker Party too.

This event was attended by 80+ students and 20+ faculty members.

                               

The Principal, The Vice-Principal, the Head Of The Department(B.C.A.), and the Head Of The Department(Physics) gave a inspiring speech which motivated the students.

The event started by me explaining about Mozilla mission and different ways to contribute to Mozilla. I took the WebMaker session and the Firefox OS App Development session. All the participants asked various types of interesting questions which helped me improve my knowledge and experience. The Indian students were excited about WebMaker and the foreign students were excited to learn App Development for Firefox OS.
Everyone were surprised to know how easy it was to develop apps for Firefox OS.

                                      

We then had the Hands-on session where every student worked on different project and surprisingly, even the faculty members joined this session!The sessions went on well and the participants made 20+ makes.

We concluded the event with a short speech by the Principal who thanked everyone and specially congratulated the mentors for their initiative.
P.S. The event gave the mentors a different experience as the environment in the college was extremely different.
At the end of the day We achieved-
*10+ FSA’s.
*80+ Web literates.
*Lots of Fun and Interactions.

Community Engagement 1.0

Here goes the blog post on Community Engagement 1.0
      
         In this meetup we all shared our  thoughts as well as ideas to strengthen the community in the Hyderabad and  we  made plans to engage with the colleges and also to come up with the new upcoming events.We also divided the work among ourselves so that we can make it more productive in next events.

 Here are the some of the plans
   a)Firefox Club inauguration in few colleges in Hyderabad
   b)Guiding the  FSA's and also showing more Contributions areas
   c) Event on Security aspects in Mozilla and showing the way to contribute to security and many  more.

         Mozilla Representative Santosh Viswanantham shared his valuable suggestions and also his thoughts and how to keep the things focused and how to be make events more productive and latter Sumanth,Akshay share there few ideas how to keep the events interactive with their new innovative ideas and later myself along with other members planned the event to inaugurate FirefoxClub in few colleges and we made plan in etherpad and noted down the agenda.
